Monday Mewsings...Cat Show Chatter!

Coco's schedule has been busy, hectic and fun! With time to nap, of course! She needs her beauty rest, and I'm keeping a close eye on her after her illness during Thanksgiving week!

We already had some outings planned before she got sick, and I was hoping that the personal appearances weren't too much stress for her...but as you can see, she had time to snooze and relax, too.

This is her booth at the Santa Paws Cat Show in Parkville MD on December 7-8th. Each show I fine-tune the booth and I am pleased with how it looks now--with outfits from the book featuring Coco, The Adventures of Coco le Chat, The World's Most Fashionable Feline!

As well as some in her finest Christmas attire!

Stylin' in her festive holiday halter by Halters by Nikky and her Christmas Candy hat by ZK Hat Couture...what a fierce way she wears fashion! But finding time for a power nap, too!

We had another successful weekend pawtographing copies of the book and sold 15 copies, with many going to be sweet presents under someone's Christmas tree!

There is still a bit of time left if you would like to order your own pawtographed copy of The Adventures of Coco le Chat...just leave us a comment here or email us at info at cococouturecat dot com and we can tell you how to order a personalized book just from us!

And it is also available on Amazon and many of your local bookstores... if you order online, please remember to post a review, so that you can help make The Adventures a Best Seller!!

Fashion Friday

Coco has an appointment with a hairdresser on Tuesday! No, not for a permanent wave, HaHaMeow!

She has a new wig from Cushzilla and it needs the bangs trimming, really!

I'm excited to see her in this new style, as it has openings for her ears, and I think it will look fantastic with her Christmas Red Dress from Lola Dog Couture!

The style is similar to one worn by Sharon Osborne, and I think the face framing bob will be quite flattering...what do you think? Be sure to check back next week for what promises to be a fab photo shoot!

Wordless Wednesday

Coco wants to let all her fans know she is feeling much better this week, after giving everyone quite a scare last week!

And she is going to start out December by attending the Santa Paws Cat Show  in Parkville, Maryland on Saturday and Sunday. We will have a booth there and will be selling pawtographed copies of The Adventures of Coco le Chat...

And I promise I won't make her wear any silly Santa outfits...she will be in something sparkly and with tulle and a tiara!

And as it's Wordless Wednesday, we'll stop talking and just go Blog Hopping, just like you should!

Monday Mewsings

Well, last Monday we were all aglow from winning the Paw Vogue Fashionista 2014 Award! But that was Monday morning...

By Monday night, Coco was very ill and had me very worried over the next three days, while the doctors tried to figure out what was making Coco sick!

Monday night, she didn't get out of her heated bed to greet me as she normally does and I went to pick her up and she had a 105.2 F fever and had vomited, obviously while curled up in her bed. I spoke to my vet and started her on some meds and tried to cool her down with wet washcloths and she told me to take her temp in 2 hours.

I did and it came down a little, and a little more hours later. She was not showing any other symptoms other than fever and lethargy, so we waited and watched during the night and took her into to my vet (also where I work, so I was able to be with Coco...a great comfort)

She was on IV fluids for 2 days, and had scads of lab work done, an abdominal ultrasound and X-rays. The diagnosis was pancreatitis or SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth). Everyone was asking...How could she get this?

Well, it could have been the treats she had on Friday when the pet behavior/trainer was here to meet her (so we can start clicker training), something she isn't used to in her diet. But the other kitties also had a few treats and they didn't get sick.

Or it could have been the treats she indulged in or the stress of public appearances, even though she seems calm and collected... Regardless of the cause, many diseases were ruled out by the lab work, and that was a relief.

And with the excellent care of the vets and staff (and me) Coco started to feel better by Thursday and began eating again and by Saturday was back to her normal, chatty, playful self! That certainly made for a very Thankful Thanksgiving Day!

Coco did have her first Paw Signing on Nov 29th at Uptown Pet Bistro and Boutique in Fairfax, Virginia. It's a lovely shop, with all kinds of fashions and super quality food and treats.

Coco has participated in one of their fund raising fashion shows before and her appearance caused quite a stir with the doggie set!

Syndee, the owner, just loves Coco and offered us a spot on Saturday afternoon and we had great fun (although I think I ate the most cookies and sipped the most cider!).

Lots of photos were snapped and we sold 5 books, too! A lovely way to spend the afternoon!

We have a big cat show to attend next weekend, and you can be sure that Coco will not be getting any unfamiliar treats and I will keep a close eye on her to try and make sure she is contented and happy, and will be using some of Jackson Galaxy's Spirit Essences on her, the Stress Stopper...

If you are anywhere near Parkville, Maryland, we'd love for you to stop by The Santa Paws Cat Show and say hello...and perhaps buy a pawtographed copy of The Adventures of Coco le Chat, the World's Most Fashionable Feline!

Since everyone is starting their Holiday Gift List right about now...don't forget, you can buy a pawtographed copy directly from us, just leave us a message in the comments and we will contact you with the details!

Monday Mewsings

Another two Fashion Fridays have come and gone, and it's not because Coco hasn't been taking the fashion scene by storm! I need a personal assistant, or at least a maid, so I can focus on being Coco's personal assistant!

The big news of the week? On November 16th, 2014, Coco was named the winner, by unanimous decision by the judges, of The Paw Vogue Fashionista 2014 Award!

There were 67 entries, and Coco was the only feline. I thought that might put her at a disadvantage, along with the fact that she had not yet strutted the runway in New York City, as so many of the entries had, and they all had a style and verve that I often envy myself!

But the judges were looking for a winner that had everything in that one photo - style, setting, attention to detail and a fashion sense that wowed! In the words of one of the judges, the winning photo of Coco showed her 'fierce attitude and uncompromising way she wears fashion!'

Here's the winning photograph, taken by me, at the fabulous Christmas Holiday display at Merrifield Gardens!

Getting that perfect model pose, looking over her shoulder, with a look that says "I'm Fabulous!" was chance, and I couldn't have guessed how stunning it was, even though the setting and the other shots I got that day were all charming and filled with glitter, gold and was this photo that spoke to me!

And, so it seems, did it speak to the judges also and I am so proud to know that what I saw in Coco, they did too!

Here's two more photos of that session, and while they are pretty and festive, you can see why that one photo had the vote of each of the three judges!

Here is a fabulous article, by one of the judges, Jody Miller-Young of Bark and Swagger, and Couture by Sophie...we thought you would like to read all about it!

I am honored and know that Coco will try to live up to the expectations of her adoring fans, and to have fun and help homeless cats by spreading the word of the organizations we support!

And watch for our post on Fashion Friday, when you get to see the gown that Coco picked out (with my help, of course) as her prize for being chosen Paw Vogue Fashionista 2014!

Not So Wordless Wednesday...

Grab a cup of Java or Chai or Hot Spiced Cider (it is the season) and catch up with us, why don't you!
(Note: Cornish Rex will seek out any warm spot, as you can see...).

I know that Halloween has come and gone and we are heading towards Thanksgiving now, but thought you would enjoy seeing some of the best photos from the Lake Anne Plaza Howloween festivities.

Coco's Day of the Dead ride

Coco, with a decked out waitress, both looking good in red!

This pup was my favorite, sporting an orange mohawk and a tie!

Coco joined in the costume contest, of course... and she won the Scariest Costume, but she really wasn't frightening at all, but she was the center of attention, as all Diva's want to be!

Then last weekend, we attended the Capital Cat Fanciers cat show in Maryland, to see old friends and to promote the new book featuring Coco!

If you would like a pawtographed copy of your own, or to give as a Holiday gift, just leave us a comment and we will get in touch with you on just how to go about doing that!

We had a fab time and sold 13 books and Coco made quite a few new friends, too. She carried herself with her usual aplomb and wow'd the visitors with her fashion sense!

And we donated a portion of the sale of each book to a local cat rescue organization that had a booth at the cat show. That is something we are doing with every book we personally sell, and that makes us feel good!

Another thing that makes us feel good is not missing out on this weeks BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop! You will feel good if you join in, too!
